At the Hepatitis B Trust we have done many vaccination and testing camps at larger venues. These give employers, councils and universities opportunities to understand the prevalence of HBV infection and also protection in their communities. For vaccinations we work with Sanofi Pasteur and Synergy Health Laboratories and for Testing Campaigns we have teamed up with Racoo Screening.
With testing and prevalencing studies in communities larger than one thousand we can arrange 100 HBV tests to check general infection levels and expose the need for best practice vaccination and patient care. Over the years we have noted similar studies revealing a 1 to 2% plus infection level among Care Workers, Restraint Staff in Mental Health Units, Amateur Boxers, Security Guards, Nursery Staff and Campus Populations. We now are in a position to offer this service to
Councilswhose boroughs are 2% HBV infected at local maternity level and
Universitieswhose student bodies have large numbers from endemic areas.
It is crucial to improving UK Hepatitis B care and vaccination that such studies are done to reveal the risks and infections being faced by staff and students who are usually quite unaware of HBV and its extreme infectiousness.
Testing Day Campscan be arranged to define your Campuses or Work forces level of HBV infection and need for further care and vaccination by calling us on0800 206 1899.
